Our Story

We met while we were both studying winemaking at Adelaide Uni back in the mid 90's.

While most of our friends landed plum winemaking jobs with big companies after graduation we wanted to start our own label and eventually plant a vineyard and build a winery.

Sounds ambitious looking back but there's nothing like a bit of naive youthful optimism and the freedom of nothing to lose!

Since then we got married, bought the vineyard site, planted the vines, built the cellar door, built the winery, raised four kids and made 29 vintages of Phaedrus. We are happy to say we still have some regular customers who have been enjoying our wines from the very start.

We are both very much hands on in the vineyard and winery and have learnt a lot and refined our approach to growing and making wines over the years; there is always room for improvement.
